Gleaming

I has been quite reluctant to write about 12th election all this while. I always thought I do not have the right to influence anyone to cast their vote for anyone. However, when the results were out, I was gob-smacked and stunned.

Yea, I do know that the huge defeat of BN indicates another beginning for Malaysia. But, overall, this is not a good trend to be followed by fellow Malaysians.

The trend setter in the Parliament. Oopps...

The election brought us hopes by opposition parties, finally, after 50 years of independence and so- called democracy. BN has been nominating the government and the parliament for nearly half a century. It's high time to make change in the government and lead a better life for Malaysians.

I would say Malaysians now have realized the mistakes they had done in the previous by letting BN won by 90% of the Parliament. The bigger hope we put, the more disappointment we will get at the end, and this has taken toll on Malaysians. Corruptions and social ills have been the major issues since the last election. The rates increased rampantly and rapidly, enough to make anyone who is rational would start questioning the abilities of our leaders. I shall not elaborate much about all these since me myself do not have the strong evidence to prove them. But, whether they exist or not, you and me know absolutely well and are well aware about them.

All these brought about the downfall of BN's government this time. I expected opposition parties to gain more seats in the parliament, BUT not at this margin. Undoubtedly, we feel good to deny BN's 2/3 majority after 40 years of their "dictatorship".

Nonetheless, Malaysian voters are too emotional this time. There were some ministers who deserved their defeat, say Samy Vellu and Zam. Who expected Prof. Koh and Sharizat to lose to two inexperienced newcomers? Chinese and indians votes obviously has swayed to the oppositions. Is this a good news?
Oh, I should not poke fun at a lost guy!

Think again guys. YOU kicked out the most experienced leader in Gerakan and pass the baton to a young indian doctor? What can he actually does for you? Prof Koh may have done some considerable mistakes during his 18-year tenure, but he can still fight the good of Penangites. And Sharizat's case, just because Nurul is the daughter of Anwar and hence she defeated the former due to her father's influence, or known as the "Anwar Effect".

Ever since he was released, he was plotting a revenge on BN who addressed him as betrayer. He has come out with a lot of social issues that are closely related to us. The most common one, the increase of oil price. Wake up guys, it's merely impossible for government not to increase the oil prices, given that the oil's price per barrel is being traded at approximately $106. No matter how much Petronas could earn, they would not be able to subsidize Malaysians fully. The more pragmatic way is to reduce the increase of the oil price, so that we will not shoulder such a huge burden overnight. Let's face it, face the reality, please do not fall to trap sweet-talk trap by BN, neither the over ambitious-plan by oppositions. They have never controlled the government before, all they know is to boasting and bragging (not all though), how we know they will not change once they have the power in their hands.

I am hoping that oppositions could eradicate corruption though there is only slim chance for them to succeed. In this election, we witnessed the power of 8% minority in Malaysia -- Indians. Basically, they are the real impetus behind all these. Do think twice before casting your vote in the future. Do not think that one single cant do much, in fact they can change the fate of our country.
You never experience it, don't say anything about it and don't emulate them.

Last but not least, oppositions and ALL POLITICIANS should and PLEASE stop provoking the issues among races in Malaysia. We do realize that there will always be a gap between us and other races. Most importantly, the gap could never be close by any means. If they do not handle this issue well, I would expect another 513 incident to happen again.
If you ever witness their corpses in the Nanjing museum, you know how terrifying ethnic segregation would be.

The riots, havoc and chaos and horrible, we do not know about it because we did not go through them. Try asking your older parents or uncles, I am sure none of them would want to experience all those again. Think about the carnage in Nanjing, China done by Japanese. There will never be a day that Chinese people would ever forgive Japanese for their cold-blooded behaviour. Similarly, deep from my heart, I wish not to see this happens in Malaysia. Who can deny that Malaysia is not a good place to settle down, despite the weaker politicians and de facto democracy.
Peace! .V..

Let's pray for a better tomorrow! Cheers~
